I wouldn't normally post stuff like this on my Photo Blog, but it was just so incredible I just had to. Last night my great friend, Irene and I headed back to our Alma Mater, UGA, to see one of our favorite bands play. The Indigo Girls played at the Classic Center and the opening act was a new favorite of mine, Brandi Carlile. If you've never heard her sing, you're missing out! Her voice just resonates throughout the hall, even without a microphone. They played one song Unplugged, literally! Just acoustic guitar, cello and her voice. It rocked. Totally inspired me to pick up my Cello again and just play. And needless to say the Indigo Girls were wonderful as well. They've been my favorite ever since I heard their Rites of Passage album when I was 15! It's all things Folk and Rock that still moves me to this day.
I would say that music is similar to Photography, to art of any kind really. It's finding different elements, realizing the harmonies they create, discovering how everyone can identify with it, and capturing it for them to enjoy. Cheesy, I know. Here are some pics of them. Katie and Sean's December 28th Wedding was beautiful. I was worried, driving up to Dahlonega in the pouring rain, that we would be limited on picture locations at the gorgeous R-Ranch. Of course I shouldn't have worried, because as always, I bring good weather to Weddings! :) (that's why you should book me!) ha! The dreary rain turned into a fog that added a mystical and magical feel to the Wedding. Katie's daughter Emma was the cutest thing! Those big blue eyes and rosie cheeks just make you want to pinch her:) The guys were awesome. I didn't have to try to make them act crazy, they already were! These are the "Formal" shots that I love to do... They choreographed the coolest Tango for their first dance...
I remember how excited I used to get when I was young and I woke up in the morning, looked out the window to a Winter Wonderland. Snow Dayyyyy! No school!!! Woo Hoo!!! This morning was no different. Even though I don't have "no school", or even a job I could call out of, I just as thrilled! I mean look at it, it's beautiful! And I get to wonder around and take some cool pics, just for fun. This was the first time my dog, Jack has seen snow. He was so confused and kept looking at me with these curious eyes. I don't think he likes it too much....makes his little princess feet cold:( What a wuss.
I just have to brag a little bit here. Now, I may not be the best Photoshopper in the world...I'm sure I'm far from it! But, my mom had a project for me recently and I'm pleased to say it turned out pretty flippin sweet! My grandfather (Papa) walks every morning around the mall with a big group of Seniors. Over the years they've all become really close and eat breakfast together after their 4 or so laps around the mall. Well, my mom wanted me to take a group pic of everyone that she could give to them. Only problem was, there was about 8 people missing on the day I came to take the pic. No problem here! My mom took their individual pics the next day and I just added them in! Well, the only issue was that mom cropped off their feet when she took them, so I had to do a little feet copying from other people. If you look closely, some people have the same shoes (or are missing one leg in one case). Here's the before pic:
And here's the after. Notice, I even edited out the white pole. My Papa is the handsome one on the front row, second from right: Not bad, eh? Ok, I'll quit stroking my own ego now:)
